UnNetHack 5 Android port on the Google Play Store

UnNethack 5 is now available on the Google Play Store.

This version currently features an ASCII view of the map, the standard unchozo32b tileset and the brand new DawnHack tileset. Future versions will include the Geoduck and Absurd tileset.

  1. wow!!!!
    what else I could wish?
    UN is the best!!!

  2. Can someone tell me how to use the included tilesets with the Android unnethack release? I tried editing the options file but can’t seem to get it to work right doc was hoping for step by step directions including exactly which folder to to find the correct options file in and exactly what to put in the file as well as what folder to find the tileset in as I can’t even find the tile .bmp.

Thanks, and thanks much for the Android port.

    • No editing of the options file is necessary.
Start the game, press the menu button (which might be a long-press on the application button on your device) and open settings. Chose the tileset option at the top and there you have three included tilesets. In the latest version you can add custom ones as well.

  3. Warms my heart, really does. Will future versions support servers?

    • Not likely because the Android version is customized for the Android OS. It wouldn’t work with the server version without some major interface changes

  4. “For what do you wish?”
I wish great unnethack iOS version!!
